You found this site somehow (I’m grateful that you did, by the way), and you’ve read a few posts.  Now, you want to know why I am here, what I have to say, and who I am.

I said I didn’t believe in Jesus for 10 years of my life, and that’s true, but that all began to change around the time my husband and I got married in 2004.  I could no longer stand against the conviction and began seeking Him around the time my son was born in 2009.  This blog chronicles that journey, but it is so much more.

Ann Voskamp said, “We read so we know we aren’t alone.”  And that is exactly what I am doing here – reading AND writing so I know I am not alone, but more importantly, so YOU know YOU are not alone.

Welcome to Servant Girl Stories

Servant Girl Stories directs you to God.  I am honest and vulnerable here.  I write about my life as a believer.  I serve God and my readers by pointing to God and by glorifying Him through my writing.  The stories I write will show you who God is.  They’ll help you feel closer to Him.  You’ll be uplifted and encouraged.  You’ll feel connected – to God, to me, and to other readers.

I have walked the journey I’m writing about, or I am introducing you to someone who has (see my feature series Portrait of a Servant Girl).

On this blog, you’ll read about my faith-journey (the “testimony” part where I talk about how I met Jesus and came to live my life for Him as well as the walk I am on with Him today).  Other topics include parenting, marriage, finances, devotions, and maybe even reviews of books, movie, or music that will point you to Jesus.  I also write an occasional feature series called Portrait of a Servant Girl where I highlight other Christian women and their stories.  Hopefully, you’ll see the humor and the lessons in a series I recently finished called A #parentingfail – Part 1-4.

Sometimes I have a plan for something I want to write about and other times, I go where the Spirit moves me.  I always try to wait on the Lord and let Him show me what someone needs to read about Him.

Who is this servant girl?

I am a native North Carolinian currently living in Monroe with my husband and our two children.  I love being southern, and I love my family.  I love Jesus and want to glorify Him in all I do.

Well, you keep reading, of course!  If you’re new, please start by reading my testimony.  (My very first post starting in October 2017 – you can find it in the sidebar on the right side of the screen).  I want you to truly understand where I come from, and these were the first of my posts, meant to introduce my faith journey to my readers.  Start from the bottom to read in order.  I know there are a lot, but I’ve been around a while, so there’s a lot to talk about to show you what God has done 🙂
